Getting Rid of the Cobwebs: Necessary WordPress Hosting Maintenance
Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
A little bit of recommended site maintenance goes a long way to making sure your site continues to run properly and be an active part of the WordPress Hosting community. It is recommended by WordPress that you should do certain things on a regular basis. First and foremost, always upgrade WordPress. Whenever a new upgrade is released, it is recommended that you update your files because these new releases, more times than not, include either new and improved features or necessary WordPress fixes or add-on files.
Plugins are also a very important feature to keep WordPress well-oiled and spry. They add features and functions to your WordPress site. These can include the capability to add customized post listings among other features to your website. It is recommended that you upgrade and/or delete old plugins as necessary – say, every 3 to 6 months.
Keeping your WordPress weblog clean and healthy will allow both you and your visitors to have a smooth-running experience. It doesn’t take that long to do, but it will be worth it in the end.
